Animal oil press and vegetable oil press are similar in appearance, but the core structure, pressure, temperature control and wear strength are completely different, so they can't be mixed.

Core Differences

1. Different characteristics of pressing object and material

Animal oil machine: handle lard, tallow, chicken and duck oil residue, meat residue, etc.
Material characteristics: high oil content, soft fiber, large moisture, strong viscosity, easy to clog.

Vegetable Oil Machine: Handle peanut, rapeseed, soybean, sesame, tea seed, etc.
Material characteristics: hard, dry, fiber-rich, medium oil content, high temperature resistance.

2. Different pressure and structure of squeezing chamber

Animal oil machine
The gap between the pressure ring and the press bar is larger, and the slag discharge is fast and not easy to block.
The screw is coarser, the pitch is larger, the teeth are deeper, and the soft material is conveyed smoothly.
The press cage has higher strength and better wear resistance (high carbon steel + heat treatment), and resists sticking and high temperature corrosion.

Vegetable oil machine
The gap of the pressure ring is small, the pressure is pressurized by grades, and the oil is squeezed dry by high pressure.
Fine screw pressing, small screw pitch, multi-stage compression, suitable for hard seed material.
Focus on low/high temperature adjustable to retain nutrients or improve oil yield.

3. Different temperature control

Animal oil machine: mainly low temperature + negative pressure (60 – 90℃) to prevent protein coking, oil color becoming darker and acid value rising.

Vegetable oil machine: Cold pressing: 40 – 60℃ (retaining nutrients)
Hot pressing: 100 – 130 ℃ (high oil yield, strong fragrance).

4. Oil yield and residual oil rate

Animal oil machine: 70% – 85% oil yield, 6% – 12% residual oil (oil residue can be used as feed).

Vegetable oil machine: peanut/rapeseed oil yield 38% – 48%, residual oil ≤5% (cake can be used as feed/fertilizer).

5. Wear and maintenance

Animal Oil Machine: Faster wear, stronger corrosion, more frequent replacement (3 – 6 months) for snail/squeeze.

Vegetable oil machine: wear slowly, just change wear parts every 6 – 12 months.

Can you mix it?

Vegetable oil machine can barely squeeze animal oil residue, but it is easy to block the machine, paste the chamber, low oil yield and abrupt wear, so it is not recommended for long-term use.

The animal oil machine cannot squeeze hard vegetable oil seeds, the pressure is not enough, the squeeze is not tight, the oil yield is very low, and the cake is not formed.
